Half of global population is going to be overweight or obese by 2030, according to the research conducted by McKinsey Global Institute.
This statement is not so wrong, considering that 30% of people on the planet are already suffering from obesity or overweight these days.
According the research, the harm caused by excess body weight outweighs that caused by alcoholism or global warming.
The researchers offered to try a new approach – reduce the food portions size and change the idea of fast food. They believe such measures would be much more effective and might help solving the global obesity problem than taxes on sugary and fatty foods.
